CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Volunteers from Huntington Bank joined the officers and staff of The Salvation Army on Thursday to distribute backpacks to low-income children in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky.

For the third straight year, The Salvation Army is partnering with Huntington Bank to provide backpacks and school supplies to area children in need.  “Project Backpack” has been made possible through the generosity of Huntington Bank, which is supplying the backpacks at no charge.  Also, Huntington Bank has worked with additional partners and the community to collect school supplies being placed in the backpacks.

Three-hundred backpacks were given out at Salvation Army facilities in downtown Cincinnati, Price Hill and Newport.  The backpacks and school supplies were offered to school-age children in low-income families on a first-come, first-served basis.

The outdoor siren system policy in Boone, Kenton and Campbell Counties have been changed, and the changes will take effect immediately.

Effective immediately the Outdoor Warning Sirens in Boone, Campbell and Kenton Counties will be only be activated for severe weather when a TORNADO WARNING has issued by the National Weather Service or a funnel cloud or tornado has been sighted by a local public safety official. When a Tornado Warning is issued the outdoor warning sirens will sound for five (5) minutes.

Testing for the outdoor warning sirens will continue to be the on the first Wednesday of each month, at 12:00 p.m. The tests are not conducted when there is the possibility of severe weather on that day.

Each County will retain the discretion to activate their Outdoor Warning Sirens for other significant emergencies (i.e. hazardous materials incident or enemy attack).

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, OH (FOX19) - The Bank of Kentucky Center will be hosting a Part Time Job Fair on Wednesday, August 10 from 10:00am to 6:00pm.  This event will take place inside The Vault Lounge at The Bank of Kentucky Center, which can be accessed from Parking Lot O located adjacent to the NKU Soccer Complex.

The part time positions available include:

• Event Staff, such as ushers, ticket takers, and guest services members.
• Box Office Ticket Sellers
• Conversion Staff
• Concession Stand Workers
• Luxury Suite Attendants
• Bartenders
