CINCINNATI (FOX19) – A line of Thunderstorms that rolled through the Tri-state Friday night brought lots of lightning and noise, along with brief heavy rain, without causing too much damage.

It also brought some photos, some of them kind of eerie looking, of lightning that seemed to be more horizontal than vertical.

Sent by Doyle Higgins Senior of West Price Hill got captured some horizontal lightning on a surveillance camera.  Another photo, which looks black and white because of the setting, is from Chris Hines in Colerain Township.  There are a couple of fangs of lightning that caused other features in the picture to darken, giving it a spooky appearance.  If you look closely, you can see the lightning is shining through some utility lines.

Another pair of photos comes from Tessa Fries of California, KY along the river in Campbell County. They show horizontal lightning silhouetting trees in the foreground, surrounded by a purplish-blue sky.

There were very few power outages attributed to all that lightning.
