Athenaeum crosses the Ohio River for new board member

CINCINNATI (FOX19) - Monsignor William B. Neuhaus, director of the Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption in Covington, has been named to the Athenaeum of Ohio Board of Trustees.

The monsignor also serves as director of diaconal formation for the Covington Diocese. The diocese sends its diaconal candidates to the Athenaeum’s deacon formation program -- a three-year commitment.

“I've been director of diaconal formation for six years,” Monsignor Neuhaus said.  “Father Benedict O’Cinnsealaigh has been a friend of mine for many years -- since not long after he came to the archdiocese. So, it has been an especially happy thing to be working with him over these years. I'm thrilled now that he is the president/ rector. I also am looking forward to working with Father Anthony Brausch who is now directing the deacon program.

“I was asked to serve on the board and I'm very interested in what's going on.

"Nativity The Pop Opera" presents Christmas story from the viewpoint of angels

COVINGTON, KY AND BEAVERCREEK, OH (FOX19) - Nativity The Pop Opera is a light hearted pop opera celebrating the Christmas story as seen through the eyes of the angels that were there.  The play, created for families to watch, also provides a chance for theater goers, sponsors and the community to be angels in their own way.  Proceeds from the production are used to provide assistance to the families and children who are being treated at the Cancer and Blood Diseases Institute (CBDI) at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center.  This support will allow kids to attend a life affirming week at ‘Njoy-it-all Camp at Camp Joy.

The goal of the camp is to create a safe fun place for kids to develop friendships with others in similar situations, learn new skills, enhance self-esteem and learn the importance of managing their illness. But most importantly it just lets them be a kid in the summertime.
