Glier's Goettafest begins tonight | Community Spirit

NEWPORT, KY (FOX19)- Glier’s Goettafest is all about constant and never ending improvement.  We want our goettafans to be delighted with their favorite, familiar Goettafest treats and be surprised by the new foods and features we add.  Regardless of how successful the previous event was, we are already working on ways to improve.  Many improvements are very small yet important.  Everything matters.

Friday: 5 PM - 11 PM
Saturday: Noon - 11 PM 
Sunday: Noon - 9 PM

New things this year:

1. A brand new website dedicated to Goettafest and the experience.

2. The Goetta Vending Machine has been an iconic star of each and every Goettafest. For 2010 a completely new and totally redesigned Goetta Vending Machine will be unveiled. One of the key features is a full view window and more goetta choices.

3. Goetta Unplugged!: While we have a thriving main stage with continuous live music, we are intrigued with the idea of an "Unplugged" concept. Greater Cincinnati is rich in new, emerging and upcoming musical talent. Goettafest would like to create a smaller, more intimate, stage where we can give young, local musicians an opportunity to share our 100,000 + crowds. This is an experiment but we think this concept will grow and receive much acclaim.

4. Local Beer Support: Back in the day Greater Cincinnati had its own hometown brewed beers. Hudepohl, Schoenling Little Kings, and Christian Morelein were part of everyday life and grill outs. Because Goettafest is local we want to support local anything as much as possible. These Cincy beers are back and we are working on adding a beer booth dedicated to these famous suds.

5. The Glier's "Glier Gear Booth has been redesigned and will showcase our famous t-shirts and other fun items for goettafans to purchase.

6. We are always looking for games that attract and keep crowds happy. The Big 6 game has been away from Goettafest for awhile. Keep in mind all Goettafest games are either run by charities who keep all of the proceeds or operated by others who give the proceeds to charity like the Goetta Slide Game. For 2010, our friends at the Behringer Crawford Museum and the Bromley Fire Dept. will be hosting the Big 6 booth for charity.

7. Goetta Coney Contest: Our friend and Goettafest food vendor George Phelps will showcase his menu of chili themed foods and promote a competitive Goetta Eating contest. The contest will be held daily and a winner selected for each day.

8. Graeter's Ice Cream adds a first ever Goetta Topping! We are excited. The world's first and only Goetta Topping will premier at Goettafest 2010. This addition joins several other Glier's Goettafest originals: Largest Goetta festival in the world; Best selling Goetta in the universe; World's only Goetta Vending machine; First ever Competitive Goetta Coney Eating Contest.

9. Glier's Goetta History Booth: A spacious booth has been added full of historical and fun-fact displays showcasing the history of Glier's Goetta.
