Travel guide ranks Cincinnati #3 for 2012

Travel guide ranks Cincinnati #3 for 2012

CINCINNATI (FOX19) - The website for travel book publisher Lonely Planet has picked Cincinnati as the number three destination in a list of ten places in U.S. territory to visit in 2012.

How did Cincinnati beat out New York City and the Grand Canyon?  The annual list isn't intended to contain the top tourist spots of all time; instead they look for "what’s new, interesting, and in some cases likely to be overlooked by travelers both domestic and international".

They say Cincinnati is a pretty city that gets bypassed because it's not on a main cross-country interstate (like I-70).  The places they mention are all in or near Downtown and the riverfront: the walkways along the river on the Kentucky side, the Suspension Bridge, Mt.

School sings for one of its own

School sings for one of its own

FORT THOMAS, KY (FOX19) - Betsy Stegner of St. Catherine of Siena School in Fort Thomas says "you don't need big packages and bright lights to see the real meaning of Christmas."

Case in point: Bud Cross, a former teacher at St. Catherine School, spent countless hours directing Junior High plays over the last 12 years.

After recently becoming ill, over 100 past students, parents and friends of St. Catherine joined together on his front lawn to sing Christmas carols and deliver cards and well wishes to brighten his Christmas season.
