Campbell Co. man expected in court on sex abuse charges

NEWPORT, KY (FOX19) -A Campbell County man is expected to appear in court on several charges of child sex abuse.

A competency hearing is scheduled for Michael Trumble.

Trumble is charged with two counts of rape, one count of sodomy, three counts of  sexual abuse and one count of kidnapping. The victim in the case was under 12 years old.

Kentucky State Police is renewing their effort to solve unsolved cases by asking the public for assistance with leads.

Dollar Store robbery suspect possibly involved in other crimes

NEWPORT, KY (FOX19) - Newport police are searching for a man who robbed the Dollar General store on Monday.

Witnesses told police that the suspect described as a white man with a tan face and scraggy facial hair, walked into the store on Monmouth Street and showed a gun to the clerk.

The suspect threatened to shhot the clerk before obtaining $500 dollars and fleeing the store. Investigators believe that he is involved in five other robberies in Covington.

Alert: Possible scam occurring on I-471 and I-275

CAMPBELL COUNTY, KY (FOX19) - Campbell County Police released an alert on Tuesday warning drivers about a scam occurring on I-471 and I-275.

According to the email alert, people are posing as disabled vehicles on the interstates and attempting to flag down passing motorists to help them. Once the victim stops, they try to extort / steal money from the victim.

Once they get the money, they leave the area. The police have no description on vehicles or suspects.

Police are asking people who travel these interstates to not stop if you see an occupied disabled vehicle, call the police or Dispatch center to assist the disabled motorist.
