Latest arrest in string of Boone Co. scrap metal thefts | Crime

FLORENCE, KY (FOX19) - A Boone County Sheriff's task force that investigates area metal thefts have made another arrest.

Scrap Unit deputies arrested a Newport man for theft of scrap from Gateway Community & Technical College's Boone Campus located at 500 Technology Way near Florence.

Deputies obtained a warrant and arrested Tracy "Brian" Denny II, 23, on Thursday, Feb. 2 at his Ann Street home.

Police say that Denny stole $15,000 dollars worth of metal from Gateway College.

Denny was lodged in the Boone County Detention Center in lieu of a $1,000 cash only bond.
