Tickets on sale this week for the Harlem Globetrotters

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, KY (FOX19) - The Harlem Globtrotters are coming to The Bank of Kentucky Center fot the very first time. Tickets will go on-sale Friday, January 11 at 10:00am for the show scheduled for Friday, April 19.

Before the game, take part in an once-in-a-lifetime experience with your family where you get to actually spend time on the court with the Globetrotters one-on-one – shooting, trying out ball tricks, autographs and photos.  The unique 30-minute pre-show, “Magic Pass,” will create memories of a lifetime.  

This year's Globetrotters roster features stars such as Special K Daley and Flight Time Lang.  They will join many other fan favorites, including 7-foot-8 Tiny Sturgess (the Guinness World Record holder as the World’s Tallest Professional Basketball Player), 5-foot-2 Too Tall Hall (the shortest Globetrotter ever), and female star T-Time Brawner.

Wine Walk in Newport benefits the American Heart Association

NEWPORT, KY (FOX19) - Registration is now available for the seventh annual Newport Wine Walk. The walk is scheduled for February 20 from 6pm - 9pm. 

Participants will will visit various Levee restaurants sample different types of wine and heart healthy hors d'oeuvres tastes. Proceeds benefit the American Heart Association. The first 350 participant will take home a commemorative wine walk glass.

Cincinnality, the local talk/variety/music TV show that airs every Sunday at 11:30pm on FOX19, will be holding auditions for musical acts, comedians, dancers, and more on Saturday January 12th and Sunday January 13th from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. until 6 p.m.

Hosts Amanda Orlando, Dean Miuccio and Randi Douglas, along with the Cincinnality Band and announcer Phil Brown will be searching for the best talent in the Tri-State area to feature on Cincinnality in 2013.

FORT THOMAS, KY (FOX19)  - The seventh annual Campbell County YMCA Al Salvato Memorial Frostbite Run/Walk, presented by Tri State Running Company, will be held on New Year's Day, Tuesday, January 1, 2013.  Registration for the 5-mile run and 3.1- mile walk begins at 9 a.m. at the Y, located at 1437 Ft. Thomas Avenue in Ft. Thomas.  The race begins at 10:30 a.m.  "This is a great opportunity for familes to come out and do something fun together to kick-off the new year," said Campbell County YMCA Executive Director Dana Ensley.   "Those who register in advance, at www.sprunning.com <http://www.sprunning.com> will receive a commemorative t-shirt."  Medals, trophies, cash, and gift cards will be awarded to run/walk winners in a variety of divisions.  Anyone who knew Al Salvato knew he was an all around great guy who brought great enthusiasm into everything he did.

Gateway Offers SHRM® Certification Prep Course

Florence, Ky. (Dec. 3, 2012) -- Gateway Community & Technical College, through its Workforce Solutions Division, will offer  a human resources professional training program, the SHRM® Learning System Course, beginning February 12, 2013.  

The SHRM® Learning System Course offers an in-depth overview of key areas in human resource management. Materials include six modules that correspond to the six functional areas, responsibilities, and associated knowledge as defined by the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI).

FORT THOMAS, KY (FOX19) - The Fort Thomas Education Foundation will again host the Fort Thomas Holiday Walk for our district on Sunday, December 2, from 5:30-8pm. Stop by the central office for cookies and to see what’s happening in the Fort Thomas Independent Schools.

Highlands High School will also be open and will have several student groups participating by offering fun holiday activities for children, including arts and crafts and pictures with “Bluebird Santa.”

A victory celebration will begin immediately following the Holiday Walk on Sunday, December 2, at 8:15pm in the Highlands High School Performing Arts Center.

ALEXANDRIA, KY (FOX19) - The City of Alexandria is bringing in the holiday season with a public celebration on Friday, November 30.

Opening festivities will begin at 7pm with local radio personality Gary Burbank followed by a parade procession and the winners of the tree topper contest annoucement.

Other events incude; a live Nativity, pony rides, a train display, ice skating, live music and the lighting of the Christmas tree.

All events take place on Alexandria Pike near the old Thriftway building. The exact address is 7906 Alexandria Pike.
