Cornhole on the Levee winter classic this weekend | Families

NEWPORT, KY (FOX19) - A tailgating and backyard favorite has been turned into a tournament at Newport on the Levee.

The Cornhole on the Levee Winter Classic is being held on Saturday, January 19 from 10:30am - 5:30pm. This second annual eventg was formed formed through the partnership of NOTL and the American Cornhole Organization (ACO) and will be held in the property’s main Gallery Building.

The Cornhole on the Levee Winter Classic features the fun, social atmosphere of playing bean-bag toss with friends wrapped into a day-long event where teams may compete for a great cash purse and assorted prizes.

The event will feature 16 micro tournaments taking place from 10:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. with the top 8 teams from the championship bracket vying for the cash purse from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Tournament purse structure:

• Maximum cash purse of $2,240.00 with a tournament sellout.
• Top 16 micro tournament winners will receive assorted prizes from the following event sponsors: AMC Theatre Newport, CoCo Key Waterpark Resort, Five Seasons Sports Club, Funny Bone Comedy Club, Naked Tchopstix, and Star Lanes on the Levee. Total prize assortment valued at $2,155.00.
