Beech Acres Parenting Center, a nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening families for children, is offering a May 21 parenting workshop called ‘Raising Resilient Kids: helping your child bounce back and gain strength from stressful situations.
The workshop will be 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Beech Acres Parenting Center (6881 Beechmont Ave; Cincinnati, Ohio 45230). Cost is $15 and pre-registration is required by visiting www.beechacres.org/workshops or by calling 513-231-6630.
Conflict and emotional pain are a natural part of life and growing up; and offer important lessons to help children better able to deal with challenges in the future. In this workshop, parents will be taught strategies for helping them coach their child on succeeding in overcoming everyday hurdles – and complex situations like bullying, illness, divorce and more.
Beech Acres’ Raising Resilient Kids workshop will be taught by Kim Orlemann, M.Ed., an educator for 30 years who has facilitated many student groups and parent workshops. She is a mentor for the Cincinnati Youth Collaborative and is the mother of three teenage boys.
For 163 years, Beech Acres Parenting Center has had a single focus in its evolving work—supporting parents and caregivers in the most challenging and important job of their lives: raising children today who are able to thrive tomorrow. Beech Acres provided nearly 17,000 services for children, parents and educators across greater Cincinnati last year with a broad range of unique services in homes, schools and in the community to strengthen parenting and relationship capabilities.
