First Newport area AAA store opens | News

NEWPORT, KY (FOX19) - Local leaders recently celebrated an early Christmas in Newport with the grand opening of the AAA Car Care, Insurance and Travel office.  Located at 63 Carothers Road, the new concept store gives customers in Campbell County and nearby communities a convenient place to take care of their travel, automotive and insurance needs during the busy holiday season.

“This is a unique opportunity being offered for the first time in the Newport area” said Tom Wiedemann, President and Chief Operating Officer of AAA Allied Group. It’s a great way for motorists to make their holiday travel plans and take care of their automotive needs all in one place.”

“We are excited about bringing this concept to Newport and the surrounding areas,” said Craig Sumerel, President of Bob Sumerel Tire and Service and Fort Thomas native. This is a growing market and we’re looking forward to being a part of the community.

The new location also brings a special gift to the community during grand opening festivities.  Throughout the week, customers can bring donations of canned goods and other non-perishable food items to benefit the Northern Kentucky Community Action Commission. The organization’s food pantry in Campbell County has been closed due to lack of food supplies.  Donations made between now and December 15th will allow the center to help needy families during the holidays.
