It's time again for Goettafest! | News

NEWPORT, KY (FOX19)- Glier's Goettafest returns to Newport's Riverboat Row for the 12th consecutive year this weekend.

Goetta, a favorite food in Cincinnati, is a blend of pork, beef, spices and oats.

Glier's, founded in 1946, is the largest producer of goetta in the world.

Hours for this year's festival are Thursday, Aug. 2, 5 to 11 p.m., Friday, Aug. 3, 5 to 11 p.m.; Saturday, Aug. 4, noon to 11 p.m.; and Sunday, Aug. 5, noon to 9 p.m.

The festival features 40 differed goetta recipes, such as goetta balls, goetta reubens, goetta pizza, goetta nachos and even goetta fudge brownies.

Over 150,000 are expected to attend the festival.
