Gateway Students Earn Addy Awards

Florence, KY (April 24, 2012)—Mollie Neff, of Independence, a graphic arts student at Gateway Community and Technical College, was awarded a District 5 Silver Student ADDY Award for her Becca Boone Bourbon package design. The competition consisted of students from Ohio, Kentucky and West Virginia.

The ADDY Awards are awarded by the American Advertising Federation and reviewed by the National ADDY Committee. The ADDY Awards represent the true spirit of creative excellence by recognizing all forms of advertising from media of all types, creative in all sizes and entrants of all levels from anywhere in the world. Neff will now compete in the national competition.

Six other local ADDYs were awarded to Gateway students. Mike Lannigan, of Edgewood, received a silver ADDY, Neff received two local silver ADDYs, and Joe Webb, of Cold Spring, received three silver ADDY awards.

“This was a very competitive year,” said Toni Bloom, assistant professor in Gateway’s Visual Communication program and chair of the college’s Business and Management Services Division. “There were lots of great entries, and the Gateway students did really well.”
