Bar Louie hosting Tater Tot eating competition | News

NEWPORT, KY (FOX19)- People all over the country will be stuffing tater tots in their mouths for Bar Louie's annual Rock the Tot competition on Thursday, June 7.

The contest is two parts— a team relay and a solo race. Relay teams are made up of four people, each having to eat a pound of tots. The first team to finish all four pounds wins. Solo challengers will have six minutes to eat as many tots as they can.

 If you and your friends want to win money, t-shirts, bragging rights, or a chance to compete nationally, sign up in person at Bar Louie Newport on the Levee or online at barlouieamerica.com. Competitors should arrive at Bar Louie by 7:30 p.m.

Aside from bragging rights, winners of the relay competition will get "Rock the Tot" t-shirts and free tots at Bar Louie for a year. Winners of the solo challenge will get a $250 Bar Louie gift card, a free VIP party for 20 friends, a trophy, a t-shirt, free tots for a year, and a chance to compete at the national contest in Cleveland for $500 cash and free tater tots for life.  Last year, the national champion ate 5 pounds, 4 ounces of tater tots in six minutes.
