Free Pie Wednesdays at area O'Charleys's restaurants

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Area O’Charley’s will be among the first in the country to be part of O’Charley’s “Free Pie Wednesdays.” The mid-week reward, which begins April 17, will be an opportunity for customers to try five new pie options recently added to the menu as a sincere “thank you” from O’Charley’s.

“All of us at O’Charley’s are thrilled to offer these exclusive pies to our friends and neighbors in the Cincinnati area,” said Mickey Mills, president of O’Charley’s. “We look at Free Pie Wednesdays as an opportunity to not only say “thank you” for allowing us to be a part of this wonderful community, but for all of the hard work our customers put in day in and day out.”

“Free Pie Wednesdays” will be available at Cincinnati, West Chester, Springdale, Milford, Franklin, Cold Spring, Harrison, and Florence O’Charley’s locations.

NEWPORT, KY (FOX19) - New owners of  Saxbys Coffee at Newport on the Levee are adding some exciting items to the menu.

Saxbys Coffee is introducing the culinary works of Executive Chef Vitor, including his award winning French toast that was voted “Best in the City” and “Best of Taste”.

New menu items will also include Chef Vitor’s seasonal creations, soups and Smash-wraps as well as new, fresh and healthy choices.

Saxbys hours are Monday - Thursday 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., Friday – Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. and Sunday 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) All local Jersey Mike’s restaurants will donate 100 percent of Wednesday's sales to help the Y help those who need it most in our community. 

“The money raised will provide scholarships to help kids learn how to swim, provide them with a healthy lunch, and help families achieve their health and wellness goals,” said YMCA of Greater Cincinnati President and Chief Executive Officer Sandy Walker.

The Month of Giving campaign in 2012 raised nearly $858,000 for 74 different charities nationwide.  “I would like to extend a personal invitation to come in and enjoy a Jersey Mike’s sub during our Month of Giving in support of your local YMCA,” said Peter Cancro, Jersey Mike’s founder and CEO.  “The opportunities to give are all around us, so we hope this March, you will join us to make a difference in someone’s life.”

(FOX19) - In honor of National Chocolate Mint Day, Skyline Chili diners will receive a minty treat with their menu purchase on Tuesday.

Dine-in customers will get a free York Peppermint Patty on Tuesday, February 19 with any meal.

“Our customers tell us one of the delights of the Skyline Chili experience is tradition,” said Sarah Sicking, director of marketing for Skyline Chili. “Some of these include making cracker bombs before the meal, wearing their special Skyline bib, talking with their favorite server and getting their York Peppermint Patty to end the meal. We want to honor our customers and their Skyline dining traditions by celebrating National Chocolate Mint Day with our Skyline Chili family.”

(FOX19) - Every Busken Bakery, Remke-Biggs, and Cincinnati/Dayton United Dairy Farmers will be giving away one free Lite Hearted Donu on Valentine's Day  to every customer while supplies last.

The Lite-Hearted Donu is a heart-shaped glazed donut targeted to calorie-counting consumers. Each donut contains just 140 calories, 2.5 grams of fat, and zero trans fat and zero saturated fat.

“This year we're giving our hearts to the Queen City,” commented Busken Bakery president, Dan Busken. “As it turns out, our hearts are sweet, low calorie, and romantically guilt-free.” 

This will be the largest giveaway in the company’s history, as the combined forces of over 150 stores hands out thousands of free donuts to customers around the city.

The Lite-Hearted Donut™ will be available at all 10 Busken Bakery locations, 135 United Dairy Farmers, and 13 Remke-Bigg’s.

Jefferson Hall hosts Wiedemann's Keg-Tapping

NEWPORT, KY (FOX19) - The new Geo. Wiedemann Brewing Co. is celebrating their Special Lager which is now being served at Jefferson Hall at Newport on the Levee.

 Jefferson Hall will be hosting a ceremonial keg-tapping this Friday, Feb. 8, beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Wiedemann pints will be available for just $2 all night long. Capping off the festivities will be live, rockin’ country music from Johnny T, one of the hottest acts on the independent circuit, direct from Nashville.

Jefferson Hall is Wiedemann’s first draft location at Newport on the Levee. The beer is a finely crafted Bohemian-style Pilsner, brewed in tribute to the great Bohemian Special Brew produced for decades at the Wiedemann Brewery in Newport, Ky.

OAKLEY, OH (FOX19) - For the eighth consecutive year, IHOP restaurants nationwide will offer each guest a free short stack of its famous buttermilk pancakes on National Pancake Day in an effort to raise awareness and funds for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals and other local charities.

For every short stack of buttermilk pancakes served on National Pancake Day, IHOP guests are invited to make a voluntary donation to Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. Donations made at IHOPs in the Cincinnati area will benefit the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals' program at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center.

IHOP hopes to raise $3 million this year, with a goal to bring the total amount of funds raised to more than $13 million.
