Blues and Boogie Piano Summit coming to Newport Saturday

NEWPORT, KY (FOX19) - the 13th Annual Blue and Boogie Piano Summit is coming to Newport Saturday at 9:30 p.m., at the historic Southgate House Ballroom at 24 E. 3rd St. in Newport.

Pompilios restaurant introduces new bourbon menu

NEWPORT, KY (FOX19) - The authentic and award-winning Pompilios Italian restaurant, located at 6th and Washington Streets in Newport, has just announced their new Kentucky bourbon menu. The menu includes more than 30 Kentucky bourbon selections giving Pompilios the most extensive bourbon menu in the Northern Kentucky/Greater Cincinnati area. Singing alumni return Vito’s Café 10th birthday

FORT THOMAS, KY (FOX19) - Vito’s Café, ‘Home of the Singing Servers’, will celebrate their 10th Anniversary with a special ‘An Evening with the Stars’ on Friday November 11, 2011 starting at 7 p.m.

A program of hit Broadway tunes and soothing opera ballads performed by returning Vito’s Café servers and current cast will comprise an evening that should be memorable, and emotional. Stars will return to ‘Sing for Their Supper’, take part in an enjoyable evening of camaraderie among class-mates, reminiscing on stage experiences at their respected alma maters, and finally, singing some beautiful music.

Guests joining the Vito’s Café staff, returning stars and current cast will receive a complimentary glass of champagne upon arrival. Each glass will be engraved with Vito’s Café 10th Anniversary and serve as a memento for guests to take home.

NEWPORT, KY (FOX19) - Newport on the Levee announced on Friday that Five Guys Burgers and Fries will open at Newport on the Levee in the Spring of 2012. According to Technomic food industry research,Five Guys is the second fastest growing burger chain in the country boasting a 37.8% increase in consolidated sales over 2009. As regional franchisee Joe Carroll likes to say, “the family’s emphasis on doing a few things great is what makes Five Guys the successful chain it is today.”

When November hits, the Turkey Raffle can't be far behind

ALEXANDRIA, KY (FOX19) - The Alexandria Fire Department will hold its annual Turkey Raffle on Saturday, November, 5 from 7:00 pm - 11:00 pm.

There will be Turkey, Ham & Combination Raffles, Door Prizes, Split the Pot, Hot Turkey Sandwiches, and refreshments.

The department promises fun for the whole family.

Pompilios hosting the 2011 Jerry Ramundo Memorial Bocce Tournament

NEWPORT, KY (FOX19) - A Northern Kentucky staple, Pompilios restaurant wants to welcome the public to the 2011 Jerry Ramundo Memorial Bocce Tournament, located at 6th and Washington Streets in Newport. The games start Monday, October 3 through Thursday, October 6 with four teams playing at 7 p.m. and four teams playing at 9 p.m., rain or shine.

Sixteen bocce teams will battle it out for the final two positions in Thursday’s Tournament of Champions where the semi-final game is at 7 p.m. and the final game is at 9 p.m. At 8 p.m. Thursday night, a buffet will be available for all participating players. Drink specials are being offered, as well as all regular menu items.

Pompilios Bocce Leagues began in 1991. Each year, 128 players (64 two-person teams) sign up to compete in the bocce league.
