(FOX19) -- On Monday, City Barbeque will provide a free half pound sandwich platter to all military veterans and troops.
In addition to free meal, the company will donate 5 percent of total sales this day to Elder Heart, a non-profit organization encouraging warriors helping warriors through community projects.
“Remembering to be thankful for the service of our veterans is something that is very important for me,” said Rick Malir, president and founder of City Barbeque. “The personal touch we’re able to give, hearing their stories while serving them a great meal is invaluable.”
All City Barbeque locations in Columbus, Dayton, Cincinnati, Kentucky and Indianapolis are participating. One free half pound sandwich platter will be given to each veteran for either dine-in or carryout orders.
City Barbeque will be open 10:30 a.m. - 10 p.m. on Monday.
