Bellevue Historic District to promote Honor Flight
BELLEVUE, KY (FOX19) - In celebration of Veteran’s Day, the public is invited to visit the unique merchants along Fairfield Avenue in the beautiful Historic District of Bellevue, KY as they join efforts in honoring Tri-State Veterans. On Saturday, November 12th from 11-5PM, participating shops, galleries, boutiques and eateries - will be joining efforts in raising public awareness and much needed funds for Honor flight Tri-state.
The unique goal of this remarkable charity is to identify and locate surviving WWII Veterans and then escort them on an all-expense paid visit to Washington, DC. The veterans are given an all-out day of honor and remembrance, usually beginning and ending with a spirited fanfare send-off and landing at the airport. Each veteran is personally escorted onto and off the chartered jet by caring local volunteers and organizers who generously pay for their own trip expenses.
