NORTHERN KENTUCKY (FOX19) - The Board of Directors from Transit Authority of Northern Kentucky (TANK) passed a unanimous resolution on Wednesday ending its DayTripper service.
While a vital tool to fulfill transportation needs for seniors and other impaired members of Northern Kentucky, TANK sited the economic slowdown and challenges in meeting its budget as reasons for discontinuing the program. As part of the dissolution of the DayTripper program, TANK’s clients are being integrated into Senior Services of Northern Kentucky’s (SSNK) Transportation program.
In a proclamation given to SSNK’s Interim Executive Director Ken Rechtin at Wednesday night’s meeting, TANK publicly thanked SSNK for diligent work in transitioning DayTripper clients to SSNK’s Transportation Program and for its excellent service to Northern Kentucky.
The proclamation states “Senior Services of Northern Kentucky has been outstanding in facilitating this transition and providing excellent service to the community…The Board of Directors of the Transit Authority of Northern Kentucky gratefully express our highest appreciation to Senior Services of Northern Kentucky for their excellent work and their support of our shared goal of providing much-needed, cost-effective transportation services to our community.”
