COVINGTON, KY (FOX19) - Overnight road work will close lanes and possibly cause backups on I-75 on the Cut-in-the Hill in Northern Kentucky.  Here's the latest from the KYTC:


June 27, 2011 - The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 6 would like the public to be aware of the following conditions and/or operations that are being reported for the Revive the Drive – NKY interstate projects.  Changes and/or additions from last report are underlined.

Coast Guard and others looking for BUI suspects this weekend

LOUISVILLE (FOX19)  – The Coast Guard, Indiana Department of Natural Resources, Kentucky Fish and Wildlife Agency and the Louisville Metro Police Department will partner in an intensified nationwide effort to detect intoxicated boaters and enforce Boating Under the Influence laws on the Ohio River from Friday through Sunday.

Coordinated by the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators, Operation Dry Water will include increased patrols from Evansville, Ind., to Cincinnati, Ohio, in order to reduce the number of alcohol and drug related accidents and fatalities on the Ohio River.

Virtually all navigable waters in this stretch of the Ohio River are in Kentucky.

Deputy injured by car coming out of concert

Deputy injured by car coming out of concert

ANDERSON TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - A Hamilton County Sheriff's Deputy directing traffic outside Riverbend Music Center was injured Thursday night when he was hit by a car.

The driver of the car took off, then hit another car down the road, and was arrested.  The Sheriff's Office believes alcohol was a factor.

The deputy was taken to a hospital with what appeared to be minor injuries.  The car was one of many coming out of the Brad Paisley concert at Riverbend.

Expect delays as I-75 is reduced to one lane this weekend

FORT MITCHELL, KY (FOX19) - If you enjoyed waiting in traffic on I-75 near the Brent Spence Bridge recently, you'll really love it this weekend.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says its resurfacing of North 75 in the Cut in the Hill will reduce the highway to one lane.  As they have been saying, "expect long delays".

Road work continues on 275 and in Covington

WILDER , KY (FOX19) - Road work continues for the rest of the week and especially this weekend on I-275 giong west from Wilder.  Once you get past that area, the real problems begin if you head north on I-75.

Here's information from the KYTC:

I-275 WB from KY 9 (AA Highway) in Campbell County to US 25 (Dixie Highway) in Kenton County


•     The exit ramp from I-275 WB to KY 17 (Exit 80) will be closed beginning at 7 pm, Friday, June 3, 2011 for approximately 2 weeks.

•     Beginning Friday, June 3, the I-275 WB will be reduced to two lanes from before the I-275 Bridge over KY 17 and the I-275 Bridge over Horsebranch Road (79 – 81 mile-marker).

CINCINNATI – Bus riders can now plan Cincinnati Metro trips using Google Maps, the most popular online mapping website in the world. The service, available free at www.google.com/transit, provides riders with customized routes to their destination online and on mobile devices.

Metro re-numbered and re-named five routes to work better with the Google Transit trip planner, effective with the May 29 summer service change.

“We are very excited to be a part of Google Transit,” said Metro’s CEO Terry Garcia Crews.

WILDER, KY (FOX19) - Highway work on I-275 this weekend will keep lanes closed and completely block several exit ramps across the Kenton County line.  The bright side is, that may discourage you from visiting I-75 in northern Kenton County, where long delays are expected.

Here is information from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet:

I-275 WB from KY 9 (AA Highway) in Campbell County to US 25 (Dixie Highway) in Kenton County

•     Traffic is currently restricted to two lanes on I-275 WB at Exit 77 (KY 9 – Wilder) and the closure is scheduled to remain in place until Friday, May 27, 2011.  During off-peak periods, lane restrictions may be in place on KY 9 for overhead bridge work on I-275.

•     The entrance ramp from KY 16 NB (Taylor Mill) to I-275 EB will be closed beginning at 7 pm, Friday, May 20, 2011 until 6 am, Monday, May 23, 2011.
